We do need another better player to replace Noble/Snodgrass Central midfielder who can control the centre and keep the ball. A second Rice would be great

Reid cannot and never could pass the ball well enough. He was a battler and strong in the air. A player that works well in a BFS like team with a more direct approach and less concerned about keeping possession. Ogbonna is another who cannot pass well enough and you could even include Antonio in that category but it’s less of a problem with the position he plays as he compensates with his strength and is getting on the end of things rather than involved in build up play.
Cresswell , Reid , Ogbonna are just not technically good enough now and will be squad back up. Then the ongoing central midfield area but we have a couple more weeks to get in some legs, pace and strength in there.

The only thing that's obvious is that you're talking bollocks. If Pellegrini wanted rid of either LB's the club would inform other clubs that they're available and the chances are someone would be interested. If you want to get rid of a player, you do. But for some stupid reason Pellegrini seems to be sticking with two useless left backs. It's down to him.

I suppose as well, by focusing on negatives and pointing them out, it can make the person seem like they care more about West Ham than others.
A footballing version of 'virtue signalling' if you like.

I tried saying that, gph, but it's no good.
Some people only want to focus on the negatives, so then they can come up with a solution.
This works two ways.
Their 'solution' is implemented, we do well, then they can pat theirselves on the back and think they had something to do with it - or, we do shit and they can then say "well, i told you so".
Quite immature and sad, really.

Balbuena must be good for Diop, comparing his performances with and without him.
Reid and Diop needs to be a lot greater than the sum of the parts to match Balbuena and Diop.

If we want confidence, look at the first half against ManC (telling ourselves that the score was the wrong way round, which it was). If we want to guard against complacency, look at the match against Newcastle.

Reid and Diop, I hope fucking not.
The General is the man, reads the game well and has a calming influence, plus he won't pass the ball to the opposition

Balbuena and Diop ! SURELY There will be Italian interest in Ogbonna Like with Obiang we should flush it out and replace him

Ogbonnas is going to give a lot of penalties away now there is VAR.
As at every corner he doesn't watch the ball just hangs onto players

Interesting to see Anderson's comment on players having to improve a lot, and that we have to start winning games.
Even if it is a friendly, winning does a lot with the confidence. And without confidence, you will lose games. Why else playing lower league opponents in preseason to gain confidence.

AOI,
Clearly, Left back isn't our strongest position.
But, somehow, Pellegrini has got Masuaku kooking lsomething like a left back.
I don't actually think Cresswell is as terrible as is made out its just that hes now at best an average player in the Premier League. See Obiang, Ogbonna. Plays adequately well for a few games, then gets caught out.
I would now though, have Ben Johnson, ahead of Cresswell and Zabaleta on both sides.
Fredericks and Masuaku to start.

AOI It’s obviously down to the fact that we have 2 LBs on contract. If no-one wants them the club can’t just buy a third. Especially when we have Ben Johnson coming through...

I'm glad I didn't watch this rubbish. I don't understand why we travel all the way to China to play shit and lose. We could have stayed at home to do that like we used to do when we'd lose to the likes of Southend or St. Albans. Ok, I know we get a few bob for it, but it can't be much and enough to make up for all that travel and discomfort.
Pellegrini's blind spot over the LB position has to be addressed, as it should have been last year by his predecessor. Baffles my why he seems reluctant to do anything about such a glaring weakness.
